Will using Sparkdial cost me more money than a standard 0845 account?
No - because the access is so much faster, you will almost certainly spend less time on-line. You only pay for the minutes you use at local rate, via your phone bill.
Are there any further charges?
No, other isp's like aol and demon all charge a monthly fee. sparkdial members benefit from no monthly subscription fees.
What have I got to lose?
Nothing! you will recognise the benefits of the sparkdial service straight away, however if you decide that you would prefer not to use it, you simply revert to clicking on the previous internet service provider's icon that you used before. Some software automatically deletes old versions, however we are so confident that you will like our service that we leave any other isp icons on your desktop.
Can I use more than one isp?
Yes, 60% of internet users already do. When you install Sparkdial access, any previous internet service provider's dialup connections will remain on your system.
Do I need any additional hardware or software?
No! there is no new technology used, we simply offer a higher level of service than our competitors. the download you get from us simply ontains a different telephone number.
Do I need to be computer literate?
no. simply follow the set-up instructions. they are written on the assumption that everyone who reads them understands very little about computers.
Will the service be quicker?
Yes, at busy times it will be approximately 3-5 times faster than most standard internet service providers.
Can I keep my current email address and account with my current provider?
Yes. you'll also be able to send mail using your domain addresses, if you have them.
What is the minimum specification needed ?
Microsoft windows 95/98/me/nt/xp/2000. You can also connect using a Mac if you set up your connection manually. see the settings section for more details.
Can i use isdn for even more speed?
yes, up to 128k.
Can I resell this service?
No, but if you're a webdesigner or IT professional, its certainly suitable to set up on a client's machine, because the service allows outgoing mail using our smtp server. There's even a downloadable file which creates a new dialup connection for windows machines - a great timesaver.
Can I charge for installing sparkdial 0845 access?
