What is unmetered dialup?
Unmetered dialup
is where an internet dialup user can connect to the internet
using an analogue or ISDN BT line and pay a fixed monthly
charge with no additional call charges (Subject to AUP). Also
known as Flat Rate.
Is this available from cable telephone lines?
No - you need one of the following products from BT. Standard
analogue PSTN line, ISDN 2 or ISDN 30.
How long does this take to activate?
The unmetered dialup is available to use from the moment
you order it. For example if you place an order using this
site now you can immediately disconnect your modem and reconnect
using the new unmetered account. An exception to this is when
you pay by cheque, where the account is activated once we
have received your cheque.
What is the minimum contract term?
The minimum contract term is one month.
How are the monthly charges paid?
Initial fees are made securely online via credit or debit
card. All monthly charges are paid by direct debit or card.
Please ensure that if using DD, you send us a signed mandate
within 7 working days of ordering the account.
What
are contention ratios?
Contention ratio refers to the number of other unmetered users
that a particular user will share a modem at the ISP with.
The lower the contention ratio the more likely an uninterrupted
service will be experienced.
Can I connect to my account from any BT telephone line?
No, you can only connect from the telephone number you
have registered with us.
Can I change my registered telephone number?
Yes, but you are restricted to 2 changes per calendar month.
Can I send mail from my own domain address whilst connected?
Yes, but this abilility is added manually for security reasons.

Can I see how many hours I have used each month?
Yes, there's a readout available via your control panel.
What happens if I go over my hours?
You cannot connect until the start of your next billing cycle.
Can I upgrade if I need more hours, or downgrade if I need
less?
Yes - the new account features will commence at the start
of your next billing cycle.
What Packages Support ISDN?
All of our unmetered dialup accounts support ISDN at 64k.
We also support ISDN at 128k on selected packages. Please
see the product descriptions for details
What email settings do I use?
Incoming: pop.entadsl.com ; outgoing: smpt.entadsl.com. Your
address wil be user@user.entadsl.com and you should use your
username on its own to log in.
Can I have a fixed IP address?
Yes you can, as an option.
Who provides the infrastructure for your unmetered accounts?
We partner with ENTAnet, who will bill you direct. Their products
are competitively priced, reliable and versatile and provide
good support features. They are a professional, well-established
company in the IT and Internet field - we've been dealing
with them since the mid-90s. |
