BT PC BACKUP (previously known as Datasure) is a secure, easy-to-use online service for backing up your business-critical data. It works over an internet connection, automatically in the background, creating an encrypted backup of selected files from your PC (using military-grade, triple DES 112-bit technology).

BT PC Backup also enables you to recover lost data and stored files - anytime, securely, on any PC or laptop with internet access. This provides a great way to make sure your important office files are also available from home or while you're on the road.

More importantly, it protects your important data against disasters - from system crashes, human error, pranksters, virus attacks, theft, fire and flood.

The BT PC Backup service is powered by Connected software and managed by Netstore, which has BS7799 certification demonstrating compliance with the British Standard for Information Security Management. The software encrypts and saves your data onto a storage server at one of the UK's top datacentres. It's also duplicated to another in a different location (creating a backup of your backup). Nobody can get access to your data without your password - and that's only available to YOU!

All you need to do is install the software, specify the folders and files on your machine you want backed up and set it going. You can specify a schedule - once a day. every week etc. and the Datasure service will keep your backup up-to-date with the latest versions of your files.

The BT PC Backup service doesn't strictly need a broadband connection to work effectively, making it an ideal solution for laptop users on the move. After the initial installation and backup, only your new or modified files are transmitted - so even with a slow modem a routine daily backup should only take a few minutes.

The service is fixed-price and on a per-machine basis (each PC which has the backup software installed). You pay only for the amount of storage space you require for that PC's files rather than the number of PCs which connect* or the number of times you back up.
